June 13 Circus Circus Signing
After a crazy Friday morning of last-day-of-school parties at my kids' school, we grabbed a quick lunch and hit the road, Friday, June 12th for the 5 1/2 hour drive to Vegas!
A picture of my winning (still can't believe that!) banner...not a very good picture since the angle was weird and the fabric wasn't laying totally flat, so there are tons of wrinkles. The CA logo is painted in silver glitter paint which doesn't show up in the photo, but it's basically a giant red and purple tie-dye :)

And the most important of all pictures, tah-dah! From Nov. 24th at the Meet & Greet. When it was my turn, I handed Tommy my camera and Criss made a remark about people bringing fancy cameras (this one is my husband's newest toy...kinda big and bulky, but it takes fab pics) and then Criss put his hand out to shake and asked me my name and where I was from. Then boom! It was picture time. This one was taken right away:

And then as soon as Tom was done taking the picture and while he still had his arm around me, I told him I came bearing gifts. Criss said, "Oh no, you just being here is enough." And I proceeded to pull out the tiny bag I had in my hand. In it were 5 small tokens and as I took each one out, I explained their meaning and put each one in his hand. There was a peace sign for hope; an angel to watch over him; an acorn for health and long life; the planet Earth (and here I improvised and told him he already had the world in his hands and he laughed); and finally a heart for love. He seemed moved by the sentiments and was so kind. He was kinda baffled though as to where to put the charms that were now piled in his hand, but I gave him the bag and while he was putting them back, I pulled out from my purse a small pewter box, with a gold heart on it, that I wrapped in red ribbon. I handed the box to him and told him it was to keep the charms in. He then pulled me in close and told Tommy, "Let's do another picture." But Tom had turned the camera off and Criss gave him a hard time about it. Tom said, "I was trying to save the battery." All the time this banter is going on, Criss' head is touching mine and let me tell ya! I was very comfortable there. LOL!! Here's the picture:

After that picture, we exchanged a real hug and I told him the show was fabulous and he graciously said "Thank you." It was an amazing experience, short but sweet, and I can't wait to do it again! I was at the "Be Interviewed by Criss" taping in August '08, got to see him in action for 90 minutes at least, and that was way too cool. But I was too shy to be so forceful to say anything on camera and this Meet & Greet was just right....well, almost. A little more light in the lobby would've been nice! LOL! :)
Here is a picture of the theatre box office from the casino:

And here's a close-up of one of the Luxor pillars advertising the show:

I'm a stay-at-home mom of two: son, 6, and daughter, 8 3/4 (ha!). I've been happily married for 14 years and enjoy sharing the fun of Criss with my family. Luckily, my husband doesn't have a green streak in him :) We live north of Los Angeles and I first discovered Criss in June of '07 when I happened to come across the TV show. I was hooked from that moment , became a Loyal the next month and bought his book right away. I'm having fun so far being a Loyal and look forward to many more unforgettable experiences! - Cathy
