Who's coaching who?
5/22/07 2 CommentsI don't know how many of you out there have kids that play sports, but can someone please tell me what has gotten into people these days??? Both of my boys have been playing little league since they were 5 years old. It used to be alot of fun for our whole family to go out to the games and cheer them on.....but the past couple of years it seems the behavior gets worse and worse from the parents and coaches. My youngest is 9, and you wouldn't believe the crap that goes on at a 9-10 year old game! Parents are ranting and cussing every time they don't agree with a call. The coaches are just as bad, then they actually want to teach the kids how to cheat to win! My son's coach is not like this, otherwise he would not be playing on his team, but the opposing teams have been horrible. He played a game last night that took 3 hours to complete because the coaches were constantly stopping the game to argue every petty thing while the kids just sit on the field waiting to play and wondering what all the arguing is about. What ever happened to teaching the kids about respect and good sportsmanship? Am I just too old fashioned? I played softball all the way up through high school, and it never seemed as competitive as this is now. It's pretty bad when my 9 year old has to ask a coach why he's being a bad role model. I think most of these kids could definitely teach the adults a few things about how to treat other people!! Okay.....I really needed to vent that out. Thanks for reading this if you got this far. Any of you had this experience with kids sports?

Thanks for the help Crissangellvr91!!!! As you can see, my son is thinking he is too cool for words......didn't show his excitement until we were on the way home that night. That's boys for ya I guess!

NY Borders Signing
5/10/07 0 CommentsI really need to learn to keep up with this blog!!! I can never seem to find enough time in the day! Anyway, drove all night Sunday night with my best friend and my son to get to New York for the book signing. It's quite the drive from Indiana, let me tell you! Worth it? Damn straight it was! I am now officially the "coolest mom in the world" according to J.D. lol. I was really impressed with how organized it was. They gave out wrist bands and told you what time to come back and get in line. So we actually got to run around New York most of the day which was awesome considering we had never been there. One thing I will say though, the next time I visit there I will NOT DRIVE!!!!! I was a nervous wreck from the time we entered the Lincoln Tunnel until we pulled into the parking garage. I will try to figure out how to post my pics from the signing here.........

Crazy couple of weeks
4/11/07 0 CommentsWell I haven't had a chance to blog for awhile, it's been insane lately. I have been having these really strange pains on & off for about 3 years now, doctors couldn't figure out the cause. Yesterday I was told I have Rheumatoid Arthritis - yuck. It's not the best news in the world, but it definitely could have been alot worse. I'm just glad to finally have a diagnosis and be starting on the proper meds to treat it. Good news is the doctor said they have made alot of progress in treatment of this disease in the last 10 years. Even though there still is no cure, trartment does well for most people I guess. I really need to do some major online research to see exactly what I'm dealing with and what to expect. Anyway, on a much happier note......I can't wait for the Chicago book signing!! Me, my son and my best friend will be making the 3 hour drive up to see him. We rented a room for the night to keep from driving home so late, so it should be alot of fun. If anyone here is planning on going to that signing, let me know cause I'd love to meet some other loyals!!
