On November 18, 2009, world-renowned artist Criss Angel was named “International Magician of the Year” by De Cometa Magico Association, the legendary magic organization based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The award was presented to Criss during one of his performances of Criss Angel BeLIEve Cirque Du Soleil at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Criss has also been named “Magician of the Year” by The International Magicians Society in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008, “Magician of the Year” by the Academy of Magical Arts (Magic Castle), and “Magician of the Decade” by the International Magicians Society, making him the only magician ever to receive all of the these honors. Criss stated: “I am honored to receive this award and hope I can live up to the expectations it places upon me.” The award was presented by Rodolfo Fast on behalf of Ted White, President of De Cometa Magico Association.
Criss is about to begin production on the sixth season of his hit A&E series MINDFREAK. Criss also recently celebrated the one year anniversary and more than 500 performances of BeLIEve.
